UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS — The federal government is turning to the UI to improve the county’s infrastructure. The Department of Homeland Security has been looking at the risks our infrastructure faces and how to manage them.
The UI will lead the research for the program. It will soon get a “Critical Infrastructure Resilience Center of Excellence.” A $3 million grant will pay for the first year.
