Navigant (NCI) to Boost Energy Practice, Hires Experts

Leading global business service provider Navigant Consulting Inc (NCI – Analyst Report) announced that it has hired several experienced industry professionals to boost its Energy practice. The professionals will form a part of a newly created Risk Management, Compliance and Security (“RMCS”) solution offering team.

The recent hires include Ed Dobrowolski, Matt Blizard, Brian Harrell and Chris Luras, who will deepen the team’s proficiency in risk management, and enable Navigant to handle increasing client demands for risk mitigation services within the energy practice.

Blizard, a Director within Navigant’s energy practice, holds over three decades of experience in law enforcement, security, operations and mission support activities. He has served 30 years of commissioned service with the U.S. Coast Guard. Moreover, he played a leading role within the North American Electric Reliability Corp.’s (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection team. His extensive experience will help in offering clients professional guidance on critical infrastructure protection, national and homeland security, electric system reliability and security, and program and performance management.

Dobrowolski also has over 30 years of experience and is a Director within Navigant. Formerly a Standards Developer at NERC, Dobrowolski has led skilled teams of industry subject matter experts who worked on fortifying the dependability of the Bulk Power System (“BPS”) through the formation of NERC reliability standards. He brings intense proficiency to the firm in delivering risk management, compliance and security solutions.

Harrell has almost two decades of experience, with immense knowledge of the physical and cybersecurity threat space and critical infrastructure protection. In recent times, Harrell has worked in the electricity sector as the Director of Operations of the NERC Electricity Sector Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ES-ISAC).

Luras, an Associate Director at Navigant, formerly worked in the formation and development of the Compliance Risk Analysis and Enforcement teams at the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC). He led a team of regulatory professionals, electrical engineers and cyber security professionals who were working on enhancing the reliability of Bulk Power Systems to solve reliability and compliance issues.

Navigant’s new RMCS solution will deliver skilled counsel to clients across all critical energy infrastructure sectors. Under the guidance of Ken Lotterhos, Managing Director, and powered with over a century’s combined experience with backgrounds in energy, federal government, homeland security and the military, the new team will deepen and enrich Navigant’s risk management, compliance and security faculties.
