PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -A new report analyzing the country’s infrastructure needs paints a dismal picture of Oregon and Multnomah County.
Produced by the group Transportation 4 America, the report lists 439 structurally deficient bridges in the state of Oregon, with 22 of those in Multnomah County.
“We knew that the state of Oregon is looking at possibly doing a transportation package, and so we wanted them to have this information,” said Chris Rall, the group’s NW field organizer.
The most recognizable bridges on the list are the Sellwood Bridge, which is currently in the process of being replaced, and the Steel Bridge over the Willamette River, which is more than 100 years old.
