US rail passengers could be soon benefit from one of the world’s greatest rivalries, as China and Japan battle for the contract to build America’s first bullet train.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has brought a trade delegation to California in a push to provide Japanese trains but the Chinese premiere is also keen to see his country’s rail industry make inroads in America.
But in such a car-dependent culture, will the trains prove popular?
